Re: Here are some links that explain why many drs think that our problems is in our head instead of taking it seriouslyFrom: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Sep 26 02:12:57 2001
Blue, All we can do is to manage the symptoms the best that we can and the meds that I use for my vulvodynia consist of both oral and topical. B/c of the way that vulvodynia works there is no cure just like there's no cure for endo. I'm not going to get better from all this but I do make sure to know when the infections are occurring like I've had to do the last few years. The meds that I'm using for my vulvodynia do a pretty good job of trying to control the overall symptoms but when rawness and burning become an issue then the sitz baths have to come in to play and they seem to really improve the functionability of my meds but like I said b/c I'm dealing with an infection (don't know the strain right now) I will need to be on antibiotics again even though I just finished a 7 day course of Levaquin (a pretty strong antibiotic). Let me know if you need me to explain further what I'm talking about in relation to vulvodynia. It's 3 a.m. here so I really must go. I have to check out the area to see whether or not I'm going to have to do one tonight (the drs at the Women's Health Forum said it was ok for me to do it and to call my dr later in the week which is what I'm doing today).
