Newbie,1st Lap and Depo-ProveraFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Sep 8 15:13:06 2001
Hi Everyone, I am waiting to have a lap done to see if I have Endo. I am hopefully scheduled to have one in Dec. I also have IBS-Constipation type and I am having a Colonoscopy done early next year. My current treatment is the BC pill, I take 3 packets back to back and then have a 7 day break for a bleed. I have just gone through one which as always has been agony. Initially I started the BC pill to stop severe ovulation pain and bleeding which went on for most of the month, painful and annoying. Then the 7 day breaks became agonising so I was told to not take a break at the end of every packet. I have been told the next step which might be better for me is to have the Depo-Provera injection. I have been to the website and checked out the information on there. I would like to know your experiences of taking it please? Good and bad. It mentions initially for the first 3 to 6 months that periods are irregular, heavy, light etc, I dread periods due to the agony so this puts me off. Can you tell me if you have Endo how painful these periods are for you? How long does it take for your periods to stop completely? How else do you feel when using Depo-Provera? The Gynae team wanted to start me on Depo-Provera instead of doing a lap but I insisted on the lap to see if I have got Endo, I need to find out what is causing me so much pain and misery. I suffer both womb pain in one place, hard, constant, and rectal pain, knife like, going upwards. As I haven't had a lap before can you tell me how much pain you are in afterwards? Will I be able to move around? I know I have asked alot of questions, sorry, but I am grateful for the answers and info you give. Take Care Samantha :)
