Re : KBFrom: AJ (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Sep 4 18:17:43 2001
Hiya KB, Well, as for the reason I think I may have endo on my intestines. I've had alot of gi problems (was diagnosed with acid reflux aka GERD 5 years ago I believe) I've had alot of abdominal pain, for a long time I was having diarhea and constipation in bouts (they would take turns), I've had chronic constipation for months on end now and nothing seems to help much anymore. I was taking metamucil, stool softeners and laxatives. Now I'm up to using enemas UGHHHH!!! All the rectal bleeding I've had has had no diagnosis to this point. I have had a fissure (tear in anal canal) once, but I know it was bc of constipation and wasn't the cause of the bleeding. At first, I was afraid of cancer bc cancer runs in my family, but I've been reading posts from other women with endo in the intestines and another woman said that the bleeding could also be a sign of endo on the intestines. I'm hoping soo much this is true, it's awful, but at least then I would know what was causing all of this. lol I never thought I would be talking about my bowel movements n such before i got this disease lol. You talk to enough women, you hear it all concerning endo. As for the sigmoid, sometimes it just hurts women more than others and sometimes they just can't get in all the way. I wouldn't be worried about it. As for my colonoscopy, the worst part was the prep for the 2 days before it. I went into the hospital and was put in pre-op room. Did the usual q&a, put in the iv, and then I spoke with the anesthiaologist and the nurse. They gave me something to relax me. When it was time for the scope, they wheeled me back to the room. I rolled on my side and they prepped me (putting thing underneath so don't leak on the table or summen lol) It was only me and the nurse at that time. I got the med to knock me out (they say that you are really awake, but you just dont remember) and the next thing I knew it was over. I didn't have any pain afterwards except for the slight gas pain bc of the air they pump in to get a better view (sorry I'm not being to technical right now, I'm having brain fog again). They wouldn't let me leave the hospital until they made sure I could pass the gas. I'm very glad that I did this and would do it again in a heartbeat just to make sure nothing has come up since I have the bleeding. I have bladder pain almost all the time, the worst is in the morning or when my bladder feels full and after urinating. Currently I'm being treated for IC, but its not helping. Also, during tests on my bladder I found out that my bladder doesn't hold nearly enough as it should when I'm awake, when I'm asleep it works fine. Umm theres another post on here from me that explains more of my symptoms. I will try to find it for you in a bit. I hope that I've helped you some and suggest that if you are still having bleeding to get the colonoscopy (the pix I got from mine were kinda kewl lol). If you need anything else feel free to write me @ any time. Take Care and God Bless, AJ
