anemia and endo.From: kelley (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Aug 23 22:01:22 2001
I was diagnosed with endo in April after the dr. had to remove an endometrioma. He says I have severe endo. I am 42. I have the regular pain, back hurts, etc. around and during my period. I have been anemic for the past 5 months. There has been no spotting between periods up until this last period. I had my period for about 5 days, stopped and then started spotting and haven't stopped. The dr.put me on BC pills and will continue next month bypassing the colored pills. He wants no period this next go round. He feels my anemia is due to the endo. Nothing was different up until this month with my periods. So what about the anemia. I have had bloodtest every month now to check my levels. This time it didn't drop or increase. Can someone explain some of this. Do you bleed inside with endo without it coming out? Like I said-my periods have been normal, not too heavy up until now-so why the anemia over these last months? One last thing-the dr. said if my blood count didn't improve, he would ship me off to a hemotologist. Now that it remained the same, he thinks its endo related. Can someone calm me down? Thanks for your kindness.
