A note about Elmiron and DMSOFrom: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Aug 20 16:54:40 2001
Marlene, Thanks for the information about Elmiron and I took a look at one of the other links about the make-up of Elmiron and the side effects that can occur with this drug. Here's the link I found off the link that you gave us: http://www.elmiron100.com/info.html. When my dr thought that I might have had IC I told her that I couldn't take Elmiron b/c of the fact that it causes some patients who take it to have bleeding gums. Also I did some reading on DMSO in a book on arthritis and found out that this treatment was used as a treatment for arthritis many, many years ago but now it is strictly designed to try to help women with IC. One of the things that it said about this drug is that the patient can have their breath smell like garlic for a while afterward. I got this information out of the book called Arthritis for Dummies. I hope that this helps everyone, and thankfully I don't have IC. ===== Kristy :) http://www.geocities.com/sokokl/kristyspersonalpage.html Owner: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Endo_Vulvodynia_PCOS http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Zoladexforendometriosis Make international calls for as low as $.04/minute with Yahoo!
