Hi AJ:

It's amazing how many women have other conditions in addition to endo, IBS and IC being just being two of them.

The only med I have been prescribed is Elmiron. I began the elmiron treatment in March and by June started to feel relief from the pain. Although it was mentioned that sometimes it can take as much as 6 months. As much as I felt better, I still had pain so the urologist did the procedure you explained. He distended my bladder and poured a solution called DMSO into it. I was tender for about a day and 1/2 but really was glad I had it done because the discomfort I was having was alleviated.

When I was researching IC I did a search on Elmiron and came across a web site that had a 1-800 number where you could obtain more info. The site is:

http://www.elmiron100.com/pre_tp.html

Click on the section that asks if you are on Elmiron and another window will come up that has a toll free number you can call to obtain more info.

Anyways...I phoned and about 6 weeks later I received a newsletter from an IC support group, a video and an audio casssette. The information in that was really good and was sent free of charge. I live in Canada and the US office redirected me to a Canadian toll free number.

Now I have written a book lol.....I wish you well in your IC treatment AJ, if you are wondering about anything else and would like to email me privately, please do.

Warm wishes and regards
