Geez ladies, ya'll caught me by suprise. It shocked me that anyone mentioned IC and I never even thought about bringing it up on the forum. I've been going to a uroligist for a few months now. I had the cystoscopy, hydrodystention, and another test done a few months ago. The only results that came back was inflammation of no known cause. My urologist has tried many many meds for me, but so far none have helped. Oh ya, and during the part of the test that you are awake and they fill your bladder, she said that my bladder holds very little compared to others, but while I was asleep, it was fine?!?! The day of the tests she started me on Pyridium Plus and Ditropan XL 5 mg then to 10 mg. That didn't have any effect whatsoever. So she started me on Detrol 4 mg a day and Elmiron 300mg a day. I've been on these since July 27 and I haven't really noticed any improvement. I know that someone mentioned being on Elmiron, how long have you been on it and how long did it take to start showing improvement?? My urologist is very caring and explains everything soooo well, it's a great improvement from what I'm used to. I have an appt with her on the 23 for a f/u. She told me the last time that I saw her that we would try these meds and if they didnt do any good that I would have to go into the office once a week or once a month(I can't remember which, my memory has been getting really bad lately) and she would use a catheter to put meds inside my bladder. She said that this is a treatment for IC also. I was wondering if anyone has tried this. I really don't want to do it. I mean it's bad enough to have a catheter once, but it hurts sooo bad and I'm a big wuss when it comes to catheters lol. Anyway, sorry for making this so long, but I needed to ask these questions and see what yall thought about it all. Thanks for reading this novel!! lol Take Care and God Bless, AJ
