could I have endometriosis???

Hi my name is Erin and I've been reading up on the symptoms of endometriosis. And from the symptoms I have read about it sounds like I might have it. But I have another question. I'm already taking birth control pills, is there a possibilty I could still have it? I still have all the same symptoms I had before I started taking the pill except instead of my terrible cramps lasting a week or more they usually last anywhere from a couple of days to a week. They seem to be getting worse every month. But I don't have heavy periods. My periods only last about 3 days. But the cramps are so bad you'd think they would be really heavy. I have told my doctor about the cramps and about the pain during sex but she just tells me to take ibuprofen for the pain, which doesn't help. And she told me the reason for the pain during sex is probably because my uterus might be tilted and causes the penis to press against it, which would be the cause of the pain and discomfort. If you could please let me know what you think I would greatly appreciate it, so I can then go to my doctor and disciss it with her. I would really apreciate another opinion. The reason I haven't asked her about it is because I'm afraid she might not believe me or something. Thanks so much. I look forward to hearing form you. Erin
