Hiya Colleen! My name is Amanda and I'm 22. I have experienced the same thing with my hair. About 2 years ago my hair started falling out in chunks also. Along with that I noticed gray hairs appearing all at once. At that time I was only on pain meds and bcps. I went to my dr for it and had my thyroid tested because thyroid problems run in my family. All of the tests came back normal and basically my dr told me that it was due to stress. After about 6 months, my hair quit falling out as much (I've been dying my hair off and on every since lol). It recently started coming out in chunks again, so I am going to see a dermatologist. (I just recently learned that a dermatologist is who you are supposed to go to for hair problems) I'm sorry I don't have more info and I can't tell you what it is, but I wanted to let ya know that you aren't alone. I would suggest getting your thyroid checked if you have other symptoms related to thyroid probs. Talk to your dr and if things don't change see a dermatologist.
