Return of endo after total abdominal hys. with removal of both ovariesFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Jul 23 16:17:58 2001
I had a complete abdominal hysterectomy with removal of both ovaries in Jan. 1996 at the age of 31. I even avoided hormone replacement therapy for nine months post-op. I now take the lowest dose of Premarin 0.625mg. I believe that I may be experiencing endo symptoms again, and I also have had chronic constipation for years, which improved some after the hysterectomy. I have other health problems and wish to avoid anything invasive. I would like to know whether or not a pelvic ultrasound can diagnose the return of endo, or would I necessarilly have to have laproscopy? I do not feel my symptoms are severe enough at this point to warrent a laproscopy anyway. I need hormone replacement therapy for cardiac health reasons. What else might I consider? Soy products seem to worsen my condition. I guess there is a lot of natural estrogen in that, but I like to get protein while avoiding meat sometimes.
