Re: ADENOMYOSIS-SYMPTOMS

I havent had a diagnosis yet but my gynae thinks it might be adeno, the main symptoms are the same as endo, painful periods (before and during), heavy bleeding with lots of clots (due to it taking longer for the blood to come out, as it is in the uterus wall) and brown or old blood (sometimes with a nasty smell), pain during sex or after, pain going to the loo, etc etc. I have all of these symptoms, and the only real cure is a hysterectomy, altho with shallow implants of it some people have relief with an ablation (permanent d+c), but I dont see the point in this as they say it is permanent but usually it only lasts 5 years, and u cant have children anyway with that, and it only stops the heavy bleeding not the pain. I am on Zoladex, and this works immensely, but get to ur gynae and tell him/her ur symptoms, and he/she will be able to tell u if it is possible u have it. Also in some cases it shows up on an MRI, altho this is also rare. Good luck, Lisa xxxx
