((KRISTY)) (((BELLE))) (((LAUREN))) - Back from my tests..harrowing!!From: Keri (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Jul 6 02:14:47 2001
Hi ladies, Just wanted to thankyou all for your friendship and support. Am back home after an extended round of tests. I was only supposed to be in Birsbane for two days but its now Friday..so as you can see its been 4 full days of tests. They've been trying to find out whats going on with this pain under the rib..so this is what happened. Firstly have been diagnosed with an enlarged pancreas with two cysts on it. Found that out a few months back but since this weeks tests have further updates. OK DAY 1. Nuclear image of ribs via bone scan. injection of radioactive material and 40 minutes of laying still. NOTHING!! DAY 2. Knocked out....and camera and tube down the throat...biospy of stomach lining while they were there. NOTHING!! Slept all day and all night so drugged up..!!! DAY 3. CT Scan....more radioactive crap injected into me...had a bad day physically and emotionally..side effects of radioactive stuff..severe migranes and nausea. This found that the pancreas and cysts have not gotten any bigger and it seems that the cysts are currently benign. GOOD NEWS!! BUT...am due to go back in 6 months for another ct scan and then each year UNTILL there is a change or in otherwords when it turns cancerous...(You have to smile..) He won't operate now as it is a bit risky. the pancreas is situated right next to the spinal chord and so really does have major risks. DAY 4. HIDA SCAN ...MORE radioactive crap injected...@ full hours of lying still on my back..(could hardly sit up I was so stiff.) They were checking my gall bladder function. RESULTS the gall has thickening of the walls and MAY be the cause of the pain tho he is not certain. The end result is that he gave me these options. a) Laprosocpy and probable removal of gall bladder even tho it may be for nothing as he can not guarantee that it is the cause of the prob b) try MORE DRUGS - to stop the pain spasms as it MIGHT be bowel probs...still not certainties. I opted for the drugs first am on a trial for 2 weeks..if no better I go back with my decision of to operate or not to operate... He still also said that it MIGHT be endo on the diaphram..until a lap I just won't know... Am currently really tired and low in energy...nauseated..the works..and still coming off the SYNAREL... BUT...I AM STILL SMILING!!!!! *LOL* anyway ladies thanks for your love support and friendship...one day we all WILL get over this horrible existence. love ya all Keri I
