Re: Pain not due to endo after all? Very Frustrated!!From: Marcia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Jun 29 13:19:19 2001
Hi Joan: I would suggest having him to an intravaginal ultrasound of your ovary, if you are concerned it is the ovary...if it is that sharp lower right sided pain, I too, think it is your ovary...that's what my pain was...at my last surgery, they saw no endo or adhesions whatsoever, but there was a cyst on my ovary that we think caused all my pain...so I am very glad that I authorized her to remove the whole ovary, as draining the cyst last time didn't last. And even if you have been on Lupron, you can still have pain from microscopic bits of endo...the Lupron only shrinks the endo tissue, it doesn't just disappear...I also wonder if your doc could have missed it in the cul-de-sac, as sometimes it is hard to see there...did your doc just do a diagnostic lap in December? Or did he remove what he could see? These are all valid questions. Don't know where he gets the referred pain from your hip or back...as pain in your lower back can be from endo in your cul-de-sac too, and even in some of your pelvic nerves. So, just keep asking questions...go get a second opinion if you have too...you shouldn't be waking up at night with the same pain...if it is the same pain as before your surgery...I would question whether the endo is really gone, too. Sending healing wishes your way, ~~Marcia~~
