Re: SOOOOOO FRUSTERATED!!!!!From: Marcia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Jun 29 09:34:15 2001
Hi Carolyn: Well, even though you may think you didn't overdo, your body may think differently...it does take some of us longer to recover from a lap than others...one lady said she wasn't back to normal for 5 months! Although I hope that isn't the case with you, you still could be swollen inside and it could hurt you...I agree with you though, if the pain is exactly as it was before the lap, I would be worried too...what I sometimes wonder, is whether our bodies remember the pain, and still cause it, even though the reason it was there is gone (endo removed, etc.) Even though I have been told that I couldn't possibly still be hurting from my laparotomy (where they removed my ovary), I still get little stabbing pains there, exactly where my major pain was...I have read that nerves remember the pain, and then still cause it...phantom pain, like when someone loses a leg...even if that is the case, it STILL hurts, and I think I might be bonkers....(just food for thought here). So yes, call your drs office, and hopefully they will have an answer...if not, call your pcp, since your gyn is out of town. Angel hugs, ~~Marcia~~
