my storyFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jun 26 14:22:18 2001
Hi for whoever reads this. I have suffered from Endometriosis for the past four years, and my first obgyn (a woman! sorry, but even though I'm female, I don't trust female docs)just told me - "It's all in your head, dear!" My second obgyn (a man) saw otherwise. Last year I had a laparoscopy (keyhole surgery) and I was diagnosed with Endo. The treatment he gave me was a medication called "Zoladex", which is injected into the ovaries through the abdomen (VERY painful!) every month for six months. This stops periods and brings on a temporary menopause, to enable Endo to be absorbed by the body. My last injection was December, and unfortunately, I am still not cured! My periods are so painful I often have to have morphine shots, and my husband is lucky if he gets to make love to me once every two months (I have been blessed with a very loving and understanding hubby). My obgyn suggested another laparoscopy, but I'm still unsure whether I want to go through that again... If you want to give me your suggestions and share your thoughts with me, my email is deebirdee@hotmail.com Thanks for taking the time to read this.
