adenomyosisFrom: kelly (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jun 26 02:00:46 2001
Hello eveyone ! I'm new to this forum ,and i am looking for any information i can find. Iwas recently told i have adenomyosis . Now my problem is i'm not a candidate for birth control ,which is the way they try to control it .Anyway i have read , through tons of information that it really doesn't help anyway.I happen to come across this dr taoff 's website . He says he's an alternitive to hysterectomy . So i sent an e- mail to him explaining my problem . We talked on the phone , at which point i wasn't real sure about the procedure. So i made an appt. to go see this dr., which only added to my confusion. He said he can take the diseased part out of my uterus and my uterine lining , instead of hysterectomy. He said he started this procedure about 10 yrs ago , only has done a little over a hundred with 100 % never getting it back .Now i have read so much i don't know what to think . I found some information that says it can't be done, because they said they can't tell if all the diseased part is gone . Saying it leaves bad scar tissue which leads to lots of risks like not being able to detect if i ever got any kind of cancer in my uterus . I wanted to know if anyone ever heard anything about this procedure or had it done , it is experimental .Alls i know is i'm scheduled for surgery on july 16 and i'm not really sure about the whole thing .I am scared to death that i might cause problems later in life . I think i'm just plan scared because everthing i'm reading says they can't do that , so i don't know what to think . But my dr. swears it can be done . But he's only one dr. most of the other drs don't believe in it . So where do i go from here?
