back painFrom: t (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu May 31 13:17:52 2001
Hello. I am interested to know if anyone has experienced back pain due to endometriosis; and if so, did a hysterectomy cure it? Specifically, the pain I've dealt with is in my low back, piraformus and other gluteal muscles, hips, and upper hamstrings. All of it muscle pain. I've had this for the past year and a half and recently had a hysterectomy for endometriosis. After the surgery, this pain seemed eradicated (good ole morphine?), however, it has now been 17 days and the piraformus pain is slowly coming back--sitting is becoming painful once again. If indeed the muscles had endo growing on them, thus restricting and causing the discomfort, I'd like to know if and when a hysterectomy cures this. Will it take a few weeks or months for the endo to atrophy thus relieving the pain? I really appreciate any info on this as my doctor has not elaborated on how or when or if this will help. She has said that it's very possible this will cure it, and oftentimes immediately, but no guarantees of course. Thank you very much, t noe
