PCOS is more than just the ovarian cysts. Please visit the PCOS Forum at: http://forums.obgyn.net/pcos. You will find info there about hysterectomy and PCOS in the archives and some of the ladies there will have some information on why PCOS isn't helped by a hysterectomy.
