Re: 1st Lap in 2 daysFrom: Mindy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue May 29 16:28:08 2001
If your doctor doesn't get it all out (including microscopic pieces), the chances of another surgery are high. Are you having laser or excision? Sometimes, laser can't penetrate deep enough or doctors are afraid to go deep with a laser, leaving behind deeply penetrated Endo that can cause pain. I had laser the first time and she didn't get it all out so she put me on Lupron for 4 months. It didn't work and I had my second surgery (excision) with a specialist (out-of-state) with no hormone therapy follow-up. I had my first period and no pain!!!! Basically everyone's body is different and doctors treat Endo differently. I know what works for me and sometimes it might take more than one surgery to find that out. I don't mean this to be negative, if that's how it sounds. I am kind of a matter-of-fact person. I have learned a lot since my first go around with Endo, and want to share what I have learned so I can help others. I wish I had had that before my first surgery!! Best wishes to you and let us know how it goes! Painfree wishes, Mindy M :-) mjmanke@yahoo.com
