Re: 1st timer....Scared and confused..Danazol (Kristy)From: Marcia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri May 11 10:20:50 2001
Kristy: Don't feel uncomfortable...it really didn't hurt me. I don't know why the doc in UK said there is no time to use anesthetic first...it doesn't even take a minute...and then when they inject the Zoladex, it is very quick too...less than a minute for that shot. Think of it as pinching the skin, which has muscle right under it, and both the anesthetic and Zoladex are injected into that skin...it is not like it goes deep into your tummy or anything...it really is a very simple shot, and my doc always put it in the same spot so that I would have a freckle on my tummy...Really, relax about it...it is about as terrifying as having a vaccine on your arm, except it is your tummy...talk to your doc about being nervous about it, but really, it was painless with the anesthetic first, and I think US docs have to do it...I have read the instructions that come with the Zoladex, and it says you have to numb the area first, so that it really, really doesn't hurt.
