Marcia,

I talked to a girl from the UK the other day who is going in for her 15th shot of Zoladex and each time she has gotten the shot she has never gotten the local anesthetic. The reason? She said that her dr said that the reason for no local anesthetic is b/c there's no time to do one. This girl said that b/c the dr doesn't do the local anesthetic it makes her quite uncomfortable.

I'm scheduled to start on June 2nd but I'm getting quite uncomfortable about this. The uncomfortableness of this gets worse as the day gets closer b/c of the fact that I don't feel comfortable with the idea of having a shot in my tummy even with the help of anesthetic. It just makes me cringe and ever since I told my dr yes I've been having nitemares off and on during the nite. I have to make sure that I wake up as quickly as possible when I have this dream.

Natalie,

I've done Danazol before but not for endo. I took Danazol for a problem in my breast. It did help the problem in my breast but I had side effects of mood swings, depression, and emotional instability. B/c I was doing it for the breast problem I was only taking 50 mg of it and not the dosage that is given for endo: 800 mg.

This drug is quite old, and the pharmacist that I talked to at the Pharmacy at the University of FL campus that's here in my area said that the side effects of Danazol are worse than Lupron or Zoladex. One of the reasons is b/c it is so old. And from what I understand now drs aren't prescribing it much anymore.

Please feel free to e-mail me privately if you want to talk some more about this.
