Hi again ~ No problem about the mix-up. I thought it was funny you know another Anna with endometriosis ! (well, not funny) I am so sorry to hear that you have such involvement with so many pelvic organs. Good for you doing research though. There are so many opinions out there.....it's really necessary to research everything. I have always had bad menstrual cramps , but frankly thought that everyone did. My gyn said I had a fibrous uterus and that is why I have such painful periods. Until recently when I started gaining weight even though I was going to the gym and eating a low-calorie diet. Felt very bloated and couldn't fit into any of my jeans. I went to gyn after reading an article about ovarian cancer , of which I had all the symptoms. Had a CT scan and a couple of ultrasounds which detected 2 cysts.....one on each ovary. they also did a CA-125...which is a cancer screener and it came back elevated...........so I was referred to a gyn oncologist. He did a exploratory laparotomy and found a dermoid cyst and an endometrioma. This wqas the first I heard I had endometriosis. (the backing up of the uterine lining through the fallopian tubes and up inot the ovaries is what causes an endometrioma to form and continually fill with blood.) SO he removed just the cysts and a small amount of endometriosis from the pelvis. He said I had a mild case of endo. Anyway, I have been reading that they can recur and wondered if anyone else had experienced a recurrence. My doc says nest time he would recommend taking all reproductive parts out since we do not want to have any more children. (I am 39 years old and we have 3 boys now) Don't know about that as then I would have to go on hormone replacement therapy for premature menopause. Oh well......I shall not worry about it now....if it happens , it happens and I believe it is in God's hands anyway. He brought me this far......He'll bring me the rest of the way ! Hey it has been good to talk to you ! You seem like a very nice person. Good luck to you with your research and if you ever need anyone to talk to....let me know ! Take care, Anna
