That's just awful what he's doing to you, and it's even worse that he's not listening to you. You're the one who knows what your body is doing to you, and no-one should be expected to live in that sort of pain. Don't you try sitting up too much - I know how much that hurt me after my lap and it wasn't even a very bad one. I got someone to help me into the lounge when I started getting bored and put old cartoon movies on - and slept through most of them! Lying down watching movies was a better bet than trying to sit up and read - and it meant I didn't need to concentrate either. Look after yourself, and I'm praying for you. Just hang in there.
