Just diagnosed .. pretty shockedFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Apr 25 06:40:12 2001
hello everyone, have spent most of my morning (boss isn't in thank-goodness) having a look at all your heart-rendering stories and already i feel touched by not only your companionship but un-ending support for each other. Now as in title, yesterday was diagx with endo in pelvis, one fallopian tube and the other 1/2 way with a cyst on womb; the thing is, living in the U.K., and on the NHS and with big problems (love-making) starting over 8 months ago, it has taken this long to see a consultant; first the smear, wait for appt., GP unable to do because womb is tilted, so wait for a smear/consultation appt. at hospital which got cancelled and rescheduled and so on, so things have gotten much worse, even sitting here now is uncomfortable. Eventually the lap was scheduled for 2nd April, and therefore got the results yesterday (you see, the NHS honestly, is not the best) and having lived in the U.S. for 12 years nearly i unfortunately know what good treatment (and early treatment) can do. It's pretty hard to talk about this as it is personal; and i really admire you call so i'll try. Yesterday i was called in and told not very clearly what was wrong, what they found and the options; pregnancy, treatment, surgery. I am 41, have always wanted children, my hubby needs to go in for a reversal so they can check on his sperm count; then they will do invitro (as a treatment) for the endo. Thing is, just since the lap i have been having to run to the bathroom with terrible bowels problems (i couldn't mention this yesterday to the consultant as there were too many people in the room) -- is this normal, and do you think if the endo had attached to the bowel they would have told me, is this a normal side effect of a lap?? You know the funny thing too ladies? -- all my life i have suffered bad acne, periods, etc., now that's obviously estrogen levels/hormone levels going crazy -- but the acne's stopped and i now have this; some swap that was! The tiredness is awful, can't think sometimes, and any stress -- can't talk and find myself stammering which is so embarrassing -- tis. wearing me down a bit; stomach is still bloated and not sure if it's from the lap 3 weeks ago or it's the endo??? Thanks for being here --- take care of yourself today wherever you are -- lol tillyxxxx
