I had my first lap about 3 weeks ago and I just noticed that my incision at my belly button has a pucker in it!!! I think I will just have to get used to it, since it is now really a scar. I thought that was kinda funny.

I had to keep a pillow handy to hold against my stomach to get up. I also slept for the first few nights in a recliner since laying flat was very uncomfortable for me. I was a little loopy from my post op meds and my hubby had to leave me alone the day after. He knew I wasn't ok to be by myself so he called my youngest sister over to "baby sit" me. I really needed it. Not to take me to the bathroom or anything, but so that I could get myself feeling better and not have to worry about our two dogs, or anything else. It was great. I didn't feel like eating a lot of heavy food, so I had lots of popsicles, and soup.

I tried to do to much too soon. So take your time to recover, let the people around you know that you need this time to your self, and get lots of sleep.

It is scary, and during the first week of my recovery is when I was very depressed and found this forum. It really was good for me to read about what everyone else had gone through.

You will be glad you did this, if for you it is the beginning of understanding what is happening with your body! (And why) And that there are people that have been there too! Anj >
