?'s on HRT after Surgical Menopause (& the FMS/MPS/Costo surgery patient)

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has any info to share on HRT following surgical menopause (dosing, method, etc)? Also, your experiences with delaying HRT or beginning it right away following surgery. I have an appt next week to discuss surgery and am trying to gather what info I can before that time.

I had always read that delaying HRT was wise for the endo patient and used to feel that was what I would do, but recently Dr. L at the CEC wrote an article on this topic [ http://www.centerforendo.com/news/HRT/hrt.htm ], which was contrary to this thinking. I am leaning towards immediate HRT, for several reasons, one of them being that I have FMS and there is some evidence that FMSers do better with HRT. I think I may need all the help I can get for my FMS, following surgery. I would appreciate any discussion on this, either from you personal experiences, or just your thoughts on this topic.

Also, if anyone has any pointers for the FMS/MPS/Costochondritis patient and surgery, I would appreciate any help you can offer. I am very apprehensive about the CO2 gas on the rib area with the costo! This may be a long surgery for that pressure on my ribs, that already are 'cemented' tight from muscle atrophy and spasms and myofacial problems.

Thanks so much for any support or info you may be able to offer! It will be greatly appreciated!

Best wishes and pain free days, wished for all! Sue
