Sheila,

First of all, I am sorry that you are experiencing pain again after so many years. It is not uncommon though as you probably know there is not cure for this disease at this time and though some women are fortunate to go into remission, there are so very many that do not.

I believe that stress does intensify the pain. When I am under stress my pain defininately gets so much worse. I unfortunately do not know the true reason for this, but hopefully some of the other girls will know specifically why (Belle, do you know?). I unfortunately did not experience the rectal bleeding, but you should definately get it looked at. Though I have seen many other women post things on the bleeding.

I am so glad to hear that you are educating yourself on the disease before your appt. Really, the best advice (personal experience speaking here) I can give you is that if they do indeed feel that this is being caused by the endo, please make sure you find a doctor that "specializes" in this disease. You will save yourself so much pain, stress and heartache in the end. There are just too many of us out there that fall prey to the "Doctor Syndrome", meaning that they have the degree so therefore we should trust them and do everything they say. Not always true! The general OB/GYN's though they know about the disease, don't truly understand it or know where to start in the treatment of it.

You can find some good info on Belle Browne's website: http://www.endometriosis.org or on the associations website: http://www.endometriosisassn.org. I hope this helps some and I hope the pain starts to ease for you.

Take care & pain free wishes to you.

Kelli L

P.S. we're having a chat at 7:00pm Central time on Wednesday night. On Friday we had a good 20 people pass through and it's a great way to get so many answers in such a short time. The room address is: http://www.infoendo.homestead.com/chat.html hope to see you there.
