I have also been on Vicodin for a year. My doctor said only to take it when absolutely necessary. At one point the pain was so bad I had to take it every day, sometimes even twice a day. I'm not addicted, as far as I know. I'm assuming that if we were addicted, we'd know it. I've been warned many times that Vicodin is very addictive, but I've never felt like I really needed one for anything other than my pain. I hope I helped, Feel better Cathy
