Hey Hon,

One Correction..Ice is to be used at the back of the neck as a Migraine is the over dilation of the blood vessels flowing to the head and heat will only dilate them more and that will cause nausea and vomiting. Ice packs or cold wash cloths should be placed at the fore head and at the back of the neck, with the room darkened or dimly lit, because photophobia(sensitivity to light ) is a common symptom. Placing a cool wash cloth over the eyes and lay down and rest and have a bowl of water with ice blocks in it to keep it cold and so you are able to refresh the wash cloth as needed and this is the one treatment which always works with out fail for migraines. Headaches from neck strains, to stressed neck muscles to, tension hedaches, all these and allergies and other reasons, may all be able to tolerate heat as a treatment but nver for migraines as it will only cook and over heat the head and over dilate the vessels and cause nausea and almost always vomiting. Wanda I knew you wouldn't mind me correting you..As I know you would rather me give out the correct information, incase some one used heat for a migarine and ended up being extremly sick or even pass out.. I hope you are having a pain free evening or night sleep. Thinking of you woth Love and Hugsz Always,

Belle.

Depending on where the headaches are... there are several ways. If it is a Migraine, massage to the neck and temples, warm cloth on back of neck, If it isn't too bad and I don't require going to the ER, I take some tylenol PM and lie down for awhile. If you have been having them for awhile...my advice would be to see your pcp or family DR.

Hope this helps. Hugs Wanda
