A simple trip to the ER consequently ended up staying 9 days

Hi everyone, Most of you don't know who I am, but some of you do, and I've been writing in the forum for about the past two months and haven't wrote in almost two weeks and I wanted to tell you about my experience. It's kind of a long huge ordeal, but somewhat interesting. First of all I had a hysterectomy done on January 15th, with no luck whatsoever I was still experiencing pain. On February 26th I worked a 14 1/2 hour shift, bartending, running around like crazy and ironically enough after finishing out my busiest week, woke up the next day with severe abdominal pain. Although I am pretty tough and am used to pain, this was very severe. More than I've ever felt before. I also had a fever of 102' and severe diarrhea. At first they thought it was Chroan's Disease, but that proved wrong. Thank God. What they found was an abscess in my lower abdomen somewhere in the bowel area. What they said was that I had two cists one on the left and one on the right, they were connected to each other. Fluid was also found. Pretty weird because it wasn't an infection, and why didn't my Gyno find this during my hysterectomy? They were going to do surgery, but they tried everything they could because where the abscess was they thought I would have bowel problems later on in life if they did. (Bowel Obstruction) I'm so confused because now that the abdomen pain has finally went away, I still have the back pain and leg pain. They said the abscess has shrunk, but I don't even know if its still there. The doctors think I'm crazy. I know I'm not. I think they're crazy. They didn't give me any solid food for the whole 9 days I was there, and half the day they wouldn't even give my liquids. I know I'm not. For some reason its not O.K. to experience abdomen pain, but it is for back and leg. I'm running out of options. I don't even know if its Endo causing this misery anymore. The doctors seem to think the abscess occurred after the hysterectomy. I thought after the hyst I wouldn't have any more trips to the hospital, but now 5 weeks later there I was. Oh well, I'm going to keep on truckin somehow. My children and my husband were going nuts, and so was I to be in there that long. You'd think I would have come out of there pain free. Oh well, hope everyone is hanging in there. Take Care, Wendi Farbstein
