Re: LupronFrom: John (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Feb 28 16:39:45 2001
Hi Heather-- My name is Tonya and I've had everything from A to Z done regarding endo. Lurpon basically puts you in menopause so that the lining of the uterus doesn't do what it normally does in endo patients. Most patients get endo back almost immediately after stopping the Lupron, although my best friend was able to get pregnant after stopping her treatment of Lupron. She got pregnant two months later!! Lupron is not a cure all drug by any means and I feel it is only for temporary relief. I've had a hysterectomy and since then I've had to have two more surgeries because the doctor left "a few" things in that he shouldn't have. There are many side effects to Lupron--like mood swings, stopping of menstrual cycle, weight gain, etc. I would not start taking Lupron if you have not had a laparoscopy performed yet. It is very hard to find a doctor who will completely understand this disease. People still don't understand endo and something definitely needs to be done about this. I am 30 years old and I have just had my 9th surgery. I have suffered with endo for 15 years and I refuse to give in to it! Please be patient and don't give up!!
