Colleen,

I'm sorry to hear about the frustration of your pain. I'm especially sad to know that your dr doesn't think that it's endo related. I've been getting quite a bit of lower back pain also but I know that it has to be endo related for me b/c if the pain were from my Irritable Bowel the pain would be much different.

I too am thinking about the possibility of having to change drs unless I get things straightened out with the one I have now. For the most part she's very good to me, but she had decided that I needed to see a Pain Management specialist to be evaluated for my chronic pelvic pain (which is most definitely endo related b/c of the way that it continues to act on me) and the vulvar pain that I get. What makes it so frustrating for me right now too is that the two conditions are running in to each other. What do I mean by that?

Well, what I mean is that when I have a BM (bowel movement) I get sharp, shooting pains all the way down in to my vagina and radiate all the way out to the external genital area causing that area to burn. On top of that I've also been getting gas and bloating. Every time that I do though I also get some uterine cramping (which I've had several times this week) and some pain right over my left ovary.

And it also feels as if my rectum is sitting right on top of my vaginal area so that sometimes just before I go to the bathroom I have some pressure. That pressure of the rectum feeling like it is sitting on top of my vagina is very uncomfortable indeed.

Well, I sent my medical history to this Pain Management that my dr wanted me to see. I explained the history of the last 5 years, as well as a letter to her explaining to her what it is that I am needing as well as what I want. And what do I want more than anything else in the world right now? Well, to find out what the results of the biopsy that I'm having in my vaginal area on the 8th are (we are checking for possible vaginal endo as well as possible scar tissue-will tell the story some other time as to what led up to this upcoming biopsy), another laparoscopy as the possible next step, and in the mean time to continue to get the Lorcet that I need even though I did get some more last week in spite of my dr saying that she wouldn't do it until Pain Management has evaluated me.

Well, guess what? I called last week to tell them of the pain I had that weekend and the fact that it almost sent me to the ER, that the only thing that is over the counter that I could take was aspirin but having to make sure that I don't take too much of it so as not to affect the healing process when the biopsy is done, as well as the fact that I wanted to know what to do for the pain since I couldn't ask for more Lorcet and if I should go to the ER if it got that bad again b/c we really needed to do something about this. Well, I got a call back an hour later saying that they were going to refill my Lorcet. And since I've gotten it back I'm able to function during the vulvar and now endo flare up.

And if that isn't all, I found out from the office manager of the Pain Management dr that saw everything that both my dr and I sent in, and she is writing (unless it's already done) a letter to my ob to explain that she can't help me.

We shall see what all will transpire on the 8th. I could write more about this but I won't as my back is hurting. I'm heading back to bed shortly as I didn't get much sleep last nite.

Also, before I close I just want to welcome you to the list. Please feel free to e-mail me privately any time.

Take care,

===== Kristy :)
