Hi Wendy:

Welcome. Everyone is different with respect to recovery from laparoscopy. Some feel better in 2-3 days, some 1-2 weeks. For me, my second one was about a week, before the pain went away. Make sure your doc gives you postop meds for the pain. Short walks help alleviate the gas they inflate your stomach with. I also found that if I held a pillow to my stomach when getting up and walking, the pain wasn't so bad. If you have children, I would say that definitely you will need help the first 2-3 days. Maybe your Mom or a friend can stay with you. Hopefully your husband will understand and pitch in as well.

I hope your doc is a specialist in regards to endo, and the lap helps you. Best wishes,
