First laparascopyFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Feb 26 07:50:43 2001
Hello everyone, I have been reading some of the posts here, but still haven't found the answer I was looking for. I am going to have my first laparascopy within the next month, and I'm not sure what to expect. I have had problems with my period since the very first one 11 years ago. My gynecologist at the time put me on birth control pills to regulate them, but I have been off of them for 2.5 years hoping to get pregnant. To say the least I haven't had any luck conceiving and my periods just get worse as time goes on. My doctor found a "cyst" last month and said it that we need to remove it. He isn't sure if it is endo or a teratoma tumor. I have been doing some research on endo, and everything that I have read so far sounds very familiar to me (symptom wise). I know I am probably repeating what someone has said in the past, but I am just trying to figure out what to expect for recovery time. I know that when he does the laparascopy he is going to remove the "cyst" and if he sees any endo he is going to remove it. I have a family to take care of, so I'm trying to decide if I'm going to need help from someone else. Thank you for any advice that you may have for me. I'm sorry if this post was too long. Wendy
