Re: about to have first laparoscopyFrom: wanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Feb 17 17:08:36 2001
I have heard the same.... Having a hyst does not guarntee that the Endo will ge gone. Endo can attach itself to your bladder, urters, and anything else in the pelvic and/or abdonimal region that it can. Get a 2nd opinion.... My thoughts and prayers are with you... I heard the best thing is to have a full blown laparotomy where the surgeon cuts you open from side to side and cuts all the disease out. The problem is that it may be deep in your peritoneum and just a laparoscopy will not do the trick. That is what my latest doctor said, anyway. I know a woman who just had a hysterectomy and her pain is back. Be careful and do not assume that it will just all go away. Look around for a GREat doctor who knows how to find the endo and dig it out.
