My lap experiences have all been different. I have only had 3 so far. The last one was the best...I was scheduled for surgery @ 9:30 am. I went for pre-op @ 7:30. I ended up in surgery an hour later. They came in and asked a bunch of questions regarding if I knew what was being done, allergies...medical ? s. The antesiolgist came in and gave me what was called a Cocktail/Margarita. It can be a combo of drugs including a relaxant, anti-vomiting medication, and for me since I have severe Asthma: a few Asthma drugs to keep my lungs open. then they will wheel you toward the OR. My first lap...I don't remember going in, the 2nd time I remember seeing my dr and throwing up from the Cocktail and then going to sleep. The last one, I remember being wheeled to the OR and going into it. They gave me the anthesia and I was out. That is all I remember. I woke up in the recovery room an hour and half later. They gave me a bunch of Demerol and phenergan. The last one, I was sitting up and sipping my ginger ale and eating crackers in about 30 minutes after coming out of the recovery area. My 1st lap, I slept most of the day away in a private room because they gave me too much anthesia. I didn't get to go home till that evening. The 2nd one, I was there for three to four hours after the surgery and the 3rd one, I was ready to go in about an hour after the recovery. the first one was the hardest to recoop from. I was done and out for several days. My second one, I was at work 2-3 days afterward. My last one, I was @ work the next day. Each can be different.

I wish you the best with yours. If you need to talk...please feel free to e-mail privately.

I am not sure about the other procedure you are talking about. Please keep me informed...

Hugs Wanda

Hi I am wondering if anyone would be so kind as to talk to me about their laparoscopy experience. What happens when you go into the hospital, the OR? What was your experience like? The anesthesia? Mine is a general I know for sure. I will also be having a presacral neurectomy done. Any info? Recovery time. Anything that you are willing to share would help so much as my surgery is only a few days away. I know about the procedure from a medical/technical standpoint but I am wanting to hear from you, the real true side of what it is like. With great appreciation.
