Hi everyone!! I have a question for everyone. Do you have vulvar pain in addition to the endo? If so do you also have the following symptoms besides the pain: burning, redness (this doesn't happen to every woman with vulvodynia but does happen to most women), irritation, itching, swelling? Also do you find that there is pain when the speculum is inserted (not just whatever pain you feel when the organs are palpitated once speculum is in)? If the answer to these questions are yes then you most likely have vulvodynia. Here's the reason that I'm wanting to know. I have reason to believe that there may be a connection between vulvodynia and endo. The reason that I'm concerned about this is b/c of the fact that so many of you are saying that you are having pelvic pain when the exam is done, and I have reason to think that endo isn't the only thing that is causing all of this. I figured this out that this might be a possibility about the vulvodynia along with endo b/c of my own experience two weeks ago when the exam hurt so much at my vulvar opening as well as when my dr felt my uterus. I would like to write a letter to the organization that oversees the Pain Management specialty to ask why most drs (especially in my area) don't want to help us. And I would like to have these figures to put in that letter. I would appreciate any help that you all can give me. I did ask my dr if she knew of any connection between vulvodynia and endo and she says that she doesn't know of one, but there has to be even though it's hidden and I would like to unlock it. Whatever that connection is won't apply to me b/c of how my vulvodynia is caused, but I want to do this for all of the rest of you that may have vulvodynia also so that hopefully we can get some more answers to all of this and maybe one with the other may lead to an answer for a cause and an eventual cure to both.
