Adnomyosis coupled with menopauseFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netFri Feb 9 16:23:47 2001
I am a 43 years of age and have been in menopause since around 38 years of age. I have been on HRT for 3 years. I have had irregular bleeding for about 5 years. After my endometrial ablation, my periods were much more controlled after that. NOW, I am in post menopause along with adnomyosis. It is my intent to avoid a hysterectomy if possible....at least for a while. Is there a HRT regimen that you suggest to help with the excessive bleeding? I'm so frustrated...my Gyneocologist is great but I feel I must take control of my own of my own education and ultimately my own care - my doctor is very receptive to my ideas. My menopausal symptoms are pretty much under control. I'm currently taking 2 mg of estrace calendar days 1 - 25 and provera days 16 through 25 and nothing 26 - 30. this is a new regimen started 1st of January and so far I've had to mother periods (still going) since 1/8/01. Just make it stop! Other background, I am in good physical condition - not overweight, active, etc. Whatever suggestions you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!
