Endro/hysterectomy/returnFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Feb 8 21:28:30 2001
Hi to all who are reading. I have never been on this forum so forgive my long winded message. I am in great hopes that someone can help with my endro crisis. I had this now for 2 1/2 years and had such a severe case that I had a total hysterectomy in May of 2000. Just these last couple of weeks I have had pain and thought IBS. (As you know every doctor tells you this is what you have anyway so you really start believing it) We relocated and found a new doctor just this past 3 months. He really is great.... Well, he decided just not to say yep you have IBS and send me home, he thought it best to do a CAT scan on my bottom half. Well, I have a cyst that is a little smaller than a Kiwi fruit. Of course this is not good. My options are not to take my estrogen or surgery. Because of the scar tissue that I had from the last surgery and now that the cyst is attached to my inside lining, the doctor said he would not be able to perform a surgery by laporoskopy (I never could spell that) He stated he is 99% sure that my bowels are right on my inside wall with scar tissue holding on to it. So if he were to do a surgery, it would have to be a long cut and he would want a surgeon with him. My biggest fear is that if I do the surgery, there are no guarantees that this will end the endro. If I go off the estrogen, I am going to be one big witch. My doctor said there are not that many women out there that after a total hysterectomy this problem continues. Is there anyone out there that has had this happen to? If so what were your success stories and what did not work. My doctor also said that there is not enough studies to support that once you go off the estrogen and go back on the estrogen like 6 months later that the endro will stay gone - he feels the chance of it coming back is high. So what is a girl to do with this big medical mess? Any ideas? Thanks - I'll take any advice!!!!
