Cease of menstruationFrom: Ysolda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jan 30 14:41:55 2001
I'am 37 years old and my endo was diagnosed about 11 years ago. For several years I was on treatment with contraceptive pills, until I decided to stop them because I was getting secondary effects. I never been pregnant, but never intended to either. Since I knew of my endo I kept in control with my gynecologist. After I stop the pills I went back to having severe pain, sometimes beginning in my stomach. In October 1999 in a check-up I was diagnosed an endometrioma on my right ovary (7mm) It was removed via laporoscopy with 3/4 of my ovary. After the surgery my doctor prescribed contraceptive shots for six months. I did the treatment, but after I finished it I've never had my period again. I got a test for my hormones levels and everything was OK, except the level of progesterone. My doctor says this might be why I am not menstruating. All I want to know is why this is happening now if my period was so regular before the surgery. Also, it is important to notice that I moved to another country two months after the operation and that I started a nutritional regime in May 2000. The regime is intended to reduce the body fat levels. Thank you to anybody who might help.
