Re: Does this ever end.

Lisa, are you my twin? I too am a Lisa, age 30, who had an emergency appendectomy when I was 16. Last year I had 2 laparoscopies and 2 colonoscopies. Each time I felt much better but 3 months later went right back to where I started from. I am now on Lupron (in menopause) which really scared me at first but turned out to be the best thing in the world for me. I have pain on my left side, but more incapacitating are the other symptoms I've had: multiple periods, insomnia, pelvic pressure, diarrhea and other weird symptoms. And the doctors are all so condescending. They just don't know what to do with you. It's like you're insane. I too am on an antidepressant. What has made a difference is when my fiance comes with me. Then the doctors begin to listen. At first, everyone threw pain pills at me too. It was ridiculous. You are not out of options. Lupron is expensive but it is getting me throught the next six months. A laparoscopy should not take 6 weeks to schedule. Call them and demand priority. I am extremely shy, and not pushy at all, but my fiance was persistent with the doctors and it paid off. I wish you luck.
