Re: After LupronFrom: suzanne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jan 16 21:18:25 2001
JR, so many women have mentioned exactly what you have - that they are in so much pain they have considered hysterectomy after Lupron. It is a downright shame that the drug that was supposed to help us, is one that makes it worse in many cases. And in so many cases the terrible side effects last a lifetime. I just wonder how many women have consented to hyst after lupron to rid themselves of the terrible pain, only to find that endo was not relieved from hyst also. In all actuality, Lupron is only a stop-gap measure to true relief from endo, which only surgical excision has the best success rate. When I say excision, I mean the surgeon does not just burn (laser) the surface endo away, but uses scissors that are able to cut (excise) below the lesion to healthy tissue. If even a speck of endo is left, the endo will return. Thank you JR for your information. Know that you are in the majority of women, rather than minority, when it comes to the effect Lupron has on endometriosis. When will this charade stop?
