Re: Shoulder painFrom: Annette (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Jan 3 14:07:47 2001
3 January 2001 I recently had a laporoscopy. After the op, I had severe right shoulder pain. I was in so much pain, I could not even click my mouse at work. I had nearly two weeks off work as the pain was so severe. Two months later, I still have the pain in my shoulder, top of my neck and all down my right arm. I want to know if anyone out there has had the same type of pain after laporoscopy. The medical doctors are denying they know anything about this. Indeed one of my GPs had my NECK X-rayed, which showed I now have osteoarthritis in my neck. I beg to differ. How can you wake up after general anaesthetic and suddenly have osteo-arthritis when you were fine the day previous? What reports does any one else have? Are there any doctors who can see a correlation between a laporoscopy operation and the carbon dioxide which is pumped in to your stomach in order that the surgeon may have a closer look. Indeed, is this the connection or is it nerve or tendon damage after this invasive surgery?
