Hi Linda,

Welcome to the group. If you do decide to have a hysterectomy there is no guarantee that the endo will be taken care of. While it is true that some women do have wonderful results from having a hysterectomy there are many that don't. As for the age factor, a friend of mine (she's 24 now) had a hysterectomy when she was 23 years old to see if it would relieve her pain and it didn't. Her pain has gotten worse. And when she had her first laparoscopy the dr found no endo. Sometimes the reason that endo can't be found is b/c it can be microscopic or it can be clear. Endo can also hide in adhesions.

I want to wish you all of the best at trying to find an answer as far as relief. Some ladies also have looked in to natural treatments, maybe that is an option for you too. Also here is some additional information on hysterectomies that you can check out: http://www.hystersisters.com.

Please feel free to e-mail me privately any time.

Take care,

P.S. I'm 29 years old and have been dealing with endo since Aug of 1997 even though I think that I've had endo since I was about 16.
