Re: depression and other ailments To EricaFrom: William (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Dec 29 13:54:08 2000
Erica, Hi my name is Debbie and I have been diagonosed with endo over 9 yrs ago. I have noticed that when i am stressed out about something in my life, that i hurt worse. For the past 2 yrs I have been under tremendous stress because of family sickness. My father was diagonosed with Alheirmers Disease about 4 yrs ago, having to deal with caring for him and helping my mom with him, we had to make the decesion to put him in a nursing home. That tore my mom and me up emotionnally. Then a year a go my mom started to feel bad all the time and she constantly complained that something was wrong, went to dr's (Family) for about 9 months pleading for help. She fell one day and hurt her back at home and i decided to take matters in my own hand and had her taken to the best hospital facitlity in N.C. One day later after a lot of tests she was diagonosed with cancer. She has had two before this, uterus and breast, this time it was breast again, and it was too late, it was every where, even in the bone marrow. I took upon myself to move her in my home and my fiance and children helped me with her. For 8 or 9 months she stayed with me, i stayed at home and loved her, cared for her, gave her meds and just stood by her. Took her to the doc's and I will never forget the very last visit with her cancer doc. This doc, which was a woman, was the greatest doctor i have ever met. She could not help mom any more because of other health conditions that my mom had, congestive heart failure too. So I took her home and she waited to die. It was pure hell, excuse the language. I saw my mom and dad deteriate in front of my eyes. Well of course she died in March of this yr. My dad is in a nursing home, health is fine, mind is gone. He does know me and my kids, but does not want to accept the fact that my mom and his wife of 43 yrs is dead. Erica, sorry for the sob story, but if you have a lot of stress or not even a whole lot the pain alone from endo will depress you. I suggest you ask your doc who is treating your endo about seeking a pshycologist. I see a therapist every week and I take antidepressants, one is called zoloft, and the other is call exeffor. I also take a anti-anxiety meds which is called kolonopin. Do everything possible to help yourself with your mentality because your mind-set can work on your body condition. I hope i have helped , please let me know how you are doing. I am 36. live in North Carolina and welcome you to talk anytime. my e-mail address in in my husbands name, so here it is whenz@ncol.net if you would like to e-mail me personally. Have a great new year and hang in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sincerely, Debbie Henze
