Debbie, Thought you could use this dealing with the holidays with your mom. And also to anyone else who has lost loved ones. All my love... Merry Christmas!! Kelly K. ;o) "The only real blind person at Christmas time is he who has not Christmas in his heart." ~Helen Keller~ "I have always thought of Christmas as a good time; a kind, forgiving, generous, pleasant time; a time when men and women seem to open their hearts freely, and so I say, God bless Christmas!" ~Charles Dickens~ T I P W O R L D http://www.topica.com/tipworld - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - W O M E N ' S H E A L T H
-- =============================================================== TODAY'S TIP: GRIEF, LOSS, AND GETTING THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS by Barbara Self, MSN, CRNP The holidays are a time of joy and a time of sharing love and laughter, but they may also be a time of emptiness, loneliness, and sadness. The loss of a loved one gives the holidays a different feeling, for things are not as they once were. To help get through the difficult weeks ahead, keep these things in mind: * Your loved one would not want you to grieve in an unhealthy manner. * Your loved one would want you to celebrate the holidays as you always did. * Your loved one is always in your heart. * You are still alive and you have work to do and lives to touch.
