Hi Angels, I need to write to all of you because its coming to the anniversary of my best friends death..Before she went in for her lap due to Crohn's(regional ileitis) She was not given a bowel prep and due to that..she inhaled her gastric contents.....which had come from her bowel.and she drowned in her own secretions ...she never awoke from her surgery.. This is why I have told this story every year....If any doctor forgets and does not order a bowel prep...this is what can happen...since that event I have never heard of any doctor around my area anyway.. forgetting to order a bowel prep before doing a lap... Maybe something good did come of her death...she has saved millions of endo sufferers world wide... through what she sufferered and died from. I know her father is a doctor and he would have definately not let his daughter's death..not have a meaning and what better way.. than to save as many other women,girls and children as well as males who have laps for other surgical reasons.. I know it helped and had alot to do with... why and how I.. ended up making a documentary on endometriosis..She was my inspiration, as was my doctor... (who died 3 years before..who I nursed until he passed away from a terminal brain tumour.) Life is very strange and it is not always as it seems...I have learnt that over and over again..situation after situation..person after person...I think I may have learnt this time lol.. Thanks for listening. and I hope it helps and saves one person from an untimely death or severe complications...Then it was worth it even more.. to tell my story about my best friend. Belle.
