Re: lupron ( Joan)From: bethtony (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Dec 15 02:16:37 2000
Hi Joan and welcome!! I did the lupron in 93-94.At that time they did not give back up hormones to counter react the side effects like they do now. The sideffects I experienced were not pleasant to say the least. During the time I did the shots I had also radically changed my diet, religiously took vitamins and made my life as stress free as possible. So in a nut shell because I did this all at once I am not sure what helped the most.I have been online for 3 months and I have not heard a positive thing about lupron.I do feel uncomfortable telling people what to do with their bodies because ultimately it is your decision and we are here to support you in any decision you make.It has been advised that syrenal(sp?) which is a low dose of lupron that is administered as a nose spray is gentler and less tramatic on the system.(if im wrong with any of this please correct me) Definatly do some reseach Joan...I am not sure what your doc is like? or what his experience with endo is? I know me personaly will be traveling a great distance to see someone who knows what they are doing and has a harmonic scapel at there disposal. I am at a point where i would take surgery over chemicals any day.I hope i have helped and if you have any other Qs please feel free to email me. bethtony@pris.bc.ca
