My doctor stopped giving me vicodin 2 weeks after a partial hysterectomy. I was so angry. She refeered me to a pain management clinic but i was so angry with her that i told her to go to the stupid clinic herself. Now as time as passed and i figured out another way to get my vicodin im wondering about the clinic, what types of things do they do there? Amy

Hi Kaz, Welcome, I was reading your message and had a couple of questions. You said that you were using naproxen and Tylenol for pain and that the doc couldn't give you anything else. Why is that? Are you allergic? There are other NSAIDs that work very well for many women with endo, such as Toradol, Ponstan, Indral. There are also many women who find it necessary to use narcotics for pain control. Unless you are allergic or have some other medical situation that doesn't allow the use of NSAIDs or narcotics, your doctor CAN give you a script for better pain management. He/she just doesn't want to. That is usually because they do not know enough about the drugs to prescribe them - honest! If you are in pain and not getting good management please ask your doctor for a referral to a pain management centre. These centres specialize in pain management for those who experience chronic pain, ongoing pain. They are up-to-date with the most effective and newest treatments and can offer you many more options than the doc you are seeing now for pain control. I hope this helps. Tanya
