Re: Hello ALLFrom: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Oct 31 22:51:28 2000
Sally, I won't be needing an EMG as my vulvodynia doesn't affect my pelvic floor muscles. The surgical procedure that I had was a labioplasty. The reason that I had the labioplasty done was b/c of the fact that I had some excess skin on the left labia minora that needed to be removed as it was interfering with my ability to wear underwear and pads comfortably. Of course now that I don't have a period as a result of taking the pill continuously I'm not going to have to worry about using menstrual pads for a very long time unless I get very heavy breakthrough bleeding again. And so far I've not had that problem. I feel that I have some nerve damage as a result of the labioplasty but I won't be able to work with a physical therapist b/c the extent of my vulvodynia won't let me exercise at all, and to try to do the exercises would only make my problem worse. I'm doing the best that I can with my dr's help to keep all of the symptoms under control and one of the ways that I do that is to do sitz baths. Kristy S :) Jacksonville, FL
